Sabrina Cataudella
I have my B.A. in Theatre and an M.F.A. in Acting, both from Brooklyn College. I have always been passionate about the arts and education. Choosing between the two was always difficult. Each time I was ready to delve into acting full-time, a teaching opportunity would present itself. Teaching Special Education and General Education in NYC’s Public school system was a way to adhere to my immigrant family’s ways of thinking and playing it safe.
Over the past decade, I have been a dedicated teaching artist and educational liaison with the company, Dancing Classrooms. This position has allowed me to be creative and artistic through the art form of dance, and fostered my social and emotional learning skills. Although I was dedicated, I still found an outlet for acting. Since 2005, I have been a founding acting company member of the Gi60 International One Minute Play Festival.
However, my calling for acting now consumes me and I am finally pursuing my dream. This year a short film that I worked on, Grow’n, was featured in the NYC Chain Film Festival. In addition, I recently finished work on Lorraine Russo’s Family Diaries, a new original web series by Joseph Ralko.
Some fun facts about me:
I am first generation Italian American, born in Brooklyn. I am a passionate person and I talk with my hands: they actually have a life and personality of their own. I am an empathetic person who believes in being kind and always paying it forward! I try to make everyone feel included and special. I love being silly, smiling and laughing. I love to cook, listen to music, dance (especially to Latin music) …preferably all at the same time!
